The Victoria Neighborhood, having been a part of the great City of Riverside since its beginnings, is anything but old. This established neighborhood, sometimes referred to as Victoria Woods, is home to some of the most distinct and historic features in the county. With rich architecture and even richer history and landmarks, the neighborhood of Victoria is the quiet gem of Riverside County. The roads that the residents of this community drive are lined with ranch style homes with mature landscapes and wind along the natural flow of elevation of the area, providing a peaceful ambiance during an otherwise routine act.
Residents of this neighborhood can also boast of the city’s oldest most coveted high school, once named Riverside High School, but is now known as Riverside Polytechnic High school, or Poly High School. The school has had many accolades over the years, including being named by Newsweek as one of the nation’s top high schools. With award winning programs, numerous extracurricular activities, 12 Honors courses and 19 advanced placement courses it is easy to see why teenagers and their parents from all over the county desire the education that this high school offers its students.
Another treasure that the Victoria Neighborhood has to offer its community is the Victoria Country Club, which is settled at its northern boundary around and in the Tequesquite Arroyo. This premiere private club was established in 1903, which makes it one of the oldest in Southern California. The Victoria Club provides members with a multitude of amenities, including an eighteen hole golf course, an Olympic sized swimming pool, tennis courts, and an exercise room, in addition to the beautiful access and views to the natural beauty of the arroyo.
With great schools, beautiful natural features, coupled with the charming estates that sit on large lots, and the access to Downtown that the Victoria Bridge provides residents with, it’s easy to see why this neighborhood is the quiet gem of Riverside.
The Victoria Neighborhood is a community where residents can expect a great deal, and want for very little.
